Albert Park ticket advice
The Australian Grand Prix is a great race for general admission viewing. There are a ton of places to watch from and being a 4 day meet there is a good chance to get around the track to find the best spots. Just beware that spots are going to be harder to get on Sunday than any other day. Get in line as early as you can on Sunday. In 2004 I got to the track a good hour before the gates opened and the line up was huge!
I watched the race from turn 9 beside the Clark stand. This is a good spot because you have a big screen and there is a large raised area so your view is pretty good.
There are small stands set up around the track on a first come first served basis. The outside of turn three has a small stand and it is good place to watch the cars coming in under braking. In the past there have been some huge crashes at this corner so it is a good one for action
There is also a small stand on the inside of the track opposite the Schumacher stand. The last corner is a long, slow technical corner so there is always the chance of seeing someone screw it up. You will also be the first to know who is heading to the pits. From here you also have great access to the support race pits and the autograph area.
There is a large raised area after turn 5 beside the soccer stadium on the inside of the track.
I have never sat in any of the stands so can't offer any first hand advice but the Prost and Jones stands should be good spots for catching some action. Especially the Jones stand for catching first corner mayhem. If you have sat in any of the stands or on the grass like me and have something to add then please contact me and I will add anything you have to offer.
